History

The original village grew up in the 60s of the 20th century towards a village of artists and also offered many victims of Nazi persecution home and work opportunities. They lived in Ronco and are also buried in the cemetery there, such as the writer Erich Maria Remarque, his wife, the actress Paulette Goddard, the film director Kurt Hoffmann (1910-2001), or citrus plant breeders Edwin Frey ( 1911-2000 ). One of Rey's breeding is the Corafora, named after a street in Ronco. The painter, graphic artist and writer Richard Seewald (1889-1976) lived in Ronco; he painted there, the chapel of SS Annunziata.

Today Ronco is a popular holiday village and, accordingly, has a large stock of second homes on.
