Ronny Yu
Ronny Yu ( born 1950 in Hong Kong, Chinese于 仁 泰, Pinyin Yu Rentai ) is a Chinese film director, producer and screenwriter.
Since the mid- 1990s, he has worked in Hollywood, before he staged fifteen Hong Kong films. After studying at the University of California, he decided to work as a film maker.
In Hong Kong, he turned with stars such as Leslie Cheung, Chow Yun Fat, Waise Lee, Ricky Hui, Kent Cheng, Jet Li and Brandon Lee. In America, with horror icons like Robert Englund, Kane Hodder and Brad Dourif, or cult actors like Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Carlyle and John Ritter.
Yu brought with Bride of Chucky and Freddy vs.. Jason three of the great horror movie icons back on the screen.
With Fearless from 2006 Yu returned to Hong Kong.
