Robert Englund
Robert Barton Englund ( born June 6, 1947 in Glendale, California) is an American actor and director.
Life and work
Englund learned his craft at the California State University, Northridge. In 1974 he made his film debut in the romantic drama Buster loves Billie ( Buster and Billie ), followed by another film tasks, mostly in smaller roles, such as in the detective movie streets of the night (1975 ) with Burt Reynolds and Catherine Deneuve, the film comedy Mr. Universe (1976 ) with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jeff Bridges and the adventure film the day of Reckoning (1976 ) with Charles Bronson. In 1976 he starred in the horror film Blood Frenzy ( Eaten Alive ) the director Tobe Hooper, where Englund mimed a compulsive madman. It joined other horror films until he returned after a short period of abstinence canvas in 1984 and gained international prominence with the role of Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare films of the series.
Due to its popularity as Freddy Krueger he graduated in numerous TV series guest appearances. In 1989 he made his debut as a director with the horror film 976- EVIL.
Englund is married his third wife.

Awards
- For the role of Freddy Krueger in Part 3 and 4 of the series, he received one nomination for the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor. In 2001 he received from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films a special award for his life's work.
