Stay Hungry

Mr. Universe ( Original: Stay Hungry ) is an American independent film by Bob Rafelson, in which Arnold Schwarzenegger can be seen in one of his first film roles.

Action

The rather idiosyncratic Craig Blake, a wealthy businessman from a good family, has become involved by referring a friend with dubious profiteers. Their plan is to build a business skyscraper. Craig receives the order, a body-building school that stands in the way of the plans to buy up.

But instead of making the deal, he falls in love with the receptionist, befriends with the club manager and the young bodybuilder Joe Santo, who wants to win the Mr. Universe title, and joins the club. Craig's extremely disgruntled business partners find this action unfunny and put their bat in movement. The school is unceremoniously demolished, injured the manager. Craig feels responsible and wants to settle the damage. But that is not already done.

Reviews

  • " Social drama about a man from well-off circles, falls in love with a girl from a clique of bodybuilders and gives up his old life. " ( Focus on Film )
  • "Based on the novel by Charles Gaines, treated Bob Rafelson social drama from 1976, less gloomy than his previous masterpieces" A man looking at himself "and" The King of Marvin Gardens " again the handling of a man with a social order present in the decay and his dysfunctional family. Cleverly mixed Rafelson criticism and satire and gave Arnold Schwarzenegger one of his first film roles. "(Video week)
