Rosbank

The Rosbank (Russian Росбанк ) is a Russian credit institution with headquarters in Moscow.

It was founded as Nezavisimost of six financial institutions in 1992 and incorporated in 1998 in the Interros Group. Rosbank was measured to be one of the largest banks of Russia in total assets through acquisition of Bank Group OBK in 2003. This was 2008 567.343 million rubles to the state from April 1. The French bank Société Générale was already in September In 2006 with a 20 percent share of the largest shareholder of Rosbank. The proportion was increased in February 2008 to 50 percent plus one share, and thus acquired the majority of Rosbank. In June 2012, the Société Générale held a share of 82.4 % owner.

According to the company, the bank has a branch network of over 600 branches in 71 regions of Russia, through which they offer all banking and financial services to private and business customers. The Rosbank has more than 3 million private clients, over 60,000 customers in small and medium enterprises and over 7,000 customers in large firms. For fiscal year 2012, the bank had a balance sheet total of the equivalent of 25.3 billion U.S. dollars.

In May 2013, the CEO of Rosbank, Vladimir Golubkow was arrested by units of the Russian Interior Ministry at a bogus money transfer. Also, the senior vice president of the financial institution was taken into custody. They were accused of accepting bribes and corruption. On May 27, 2013 Golubkow was released from his position as CEO and summarily dismissed.
