Rosemary Joshua

Rosemary Joshua (* in the October 16, 1964 in Cardiff ) is a Welsh soprano and renowned interpreter of Handel.

Life

After finishing school in Cardiff Rosemary Joshua studied at London's Royal College of Music. In the early 1990s she made her debut in Aix -en- Provence as Angelica in Handel's Orlando. Then she led engagements at the Scottish Opera, the Royal Opera and other major opera houses in Europe and North America.

One focus of her work is the interpretation of baroque music. So they sang and Others spiritual songs of Henry Purcell and has worked with leading orchestras, the endeavor to historical performance practice, such as the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin and Les Musiciens du Louvre worked together.
