Rosmarie Bleuer

Rosmarie Bleuer, married Hirschy - Bleuer ( born March 16, 1926 in Grindelwald) is a former Swiss ski racer. She was three times national champion, scored several victories and podium finishes in international races and took part in the Winter Olympics 1948 and the World Cup 1950.

Biography

Rosmarie Bleuer was born as the daughter of Grindelwald hoteliers Christian Bleuer. The first major success was the then 18 -year-olds in early March 1945. Drove you at the Swiss Championships in Engelberg as a junior set the fastest time in the downhill and was Swiss by a margin of 3.2 seconds to the best elite rider Antoinette Meyer downhill champion. In 1946, she won the Swiss Championships in Davos again the downhill in the Junior class, but this time remained significantly behind the most elite rider and Swiss champion Hedy Schlunegger back. Even the slalom junior she won in 1946, after they had occupied in the previous year to second place in this discipline.

In the winter of 1947 Bleuer took along with five other Swiss skiers and drivers inside as well as the team leader Arnold Glatthard part in a two-month trip to the United States, where the group participated in several competitions. At podiums she reached it a win in the downhill and a second place in the slalom of the Silver Dollar Derby in Reno, Nevada and a second place in the slalom the U.S. Championships in Snowbasin at Salt Lake City, Utah.

1948 Bleuer was one of seven Swiss ski racers at the Winter Olympics in St. Moritz. She was sixth in the combination, 9th in Downhill and 13th in the slalom ( the counted together with the departure of combining combination slalom she finished sixth position). Three weeks later, she was at the national championships in the same place second in the combination and third in the downhill. Victorious, she was back at the Swiss Championships 1949 in Gstaad, as they the championship title in the downhill and with another win in slalom and combined the title in the combination secured.

In January 1950, won a Bleuer relied on for World Cup qualifying slalom on the Lauberhorn in Wengen. At the World Cup 1950 in Aspen as they drove 15 downhill and 17 of the giant slalom twice into midfield, but was disqualified in the slalom. During the subsequent Harriman Cup at Sun Valley was seventh in the slalom, tenth in the downhill and eighth in the combination. In the same year Bleuer married the former officer in the Swiss army and later SSV and OPA President and FIS Council Member Pierre Hirschy ( 1913-1994 ).

In January 1951, Bleuer reached the third place in the slalom staged in her hometown SDS- race. In February of the same year she scored at the Swiss Championships in Adelboden second place in the slalom behind the Swiss champion Olivia Ausoni before she retired at the end of the season from competitive skating.
