Ross (lunar crater)

Ross is an impact crater on the lunar front side in the plane of the Sea of ​​Tranquility, southwest of the crater Plinius and northeast of Sosigenes.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the English explorer James Clark Ross and the American astronomer and physicist Frank Elmore Ross.
