Roy Nelson (fighter)

Roy Nelson ( born June 20, 1976 in Las Vegas ) is an American mixed martial arts fighter. He's heavyweight title holder of the International Fight League, in 2009 was the winner of the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter and has since been in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. His Battle statistics amounts to the August 7, 2010 at 15 wins and five defeats. Nelson's ring name is Big Country.

Career

Beginnings and International Fight League

In high school wrestler was Nelson and played football and baseball. In addition, he trained Karate and Kung Fu and in 2000 he started with Jiu Jitsu. He had his first two MMA fights on 17 April 2004 in the organizer Rage on the River, where he was able to defeat both opponents. Ultimate Fighting Championship

This is what Roy Nelson was committed for the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter as a fighter. There he entered into the Preliminary Round on in a much-publicized fight against Kimbo Slice and defeated him by TKO. In the final on 5 December 2009 he met Brendan Schaub, whom he beat in the first round KO. This was Roy Nelson Winner of the season and won a contract with the UFC. In his first fight he defeated resulting on March 31, 2010 Stefan Struve by TKO after 39 seconds. Next, he had to face Junior dos Santos, which earned him a points defeat on August 7, 2010.
