Rozavlea
Rozavlea (Hungarian Rozalia ) is a town in Maramureş County in Romania.
Location
Rozavlea is located about 32 km southeast of the city Sighetu Marmaţiei in the valley of the river Iza.
Structure
By 2002, the neighboring village Sieu belonged to Rozavlea, but has since formed a separate municipality. 2006 was the settlement of Salta to the status of an official hamlet.
History
The town was first mentioned in 1373 as St. John villa Woyvode documented. He was for several centuries part of the county of Maramures and thus of the Kingdom of Hungary. After the First World War he came to Romania.
Population
Since the official Census in 1850, the community was predominantly inhabited by Romanians. Until the Second World War, the Jews were a significant minority (1920 more than 25 percent). Meanwhile, the residents of Rozavlea are almost exclusively Romanians; 2002 in the municipality ( which at that time also included the place Sieu and 6124 inhabitants had ), a German, a Ukrainian and Roma eleven captured.
Traffic
Rozavlea is located on the county road (drum Judetean ) DJ 186, which runs from Vadu Izei after SACEL and thus the cities Sighetu Marmaţiei and Borsa together. Regular bus services in these cities. The nearest train station is located about 7 km north-east of the village in Leordina on the railway line Valea Viseului - Borsa.
Attractions
Tourists crowd the wooden church built 1717-1720 " Sfânţii Arhangheli Mihail şi Gavril " ( Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel ). Rozavlea is also interesting due to its attractive landscaped location.
