RSA Battle House Tower

The RSA Battle House Tower is a skyscraper in Mobile, Alabama. The building was completed in 2007. It is located at 11 North Water Street. With 227 meters, it dominates the RSA Bank Trust Building as the tallest building in Mobile and the Wells Fargo Tower in Birmingham as the tallest building in the state of Alabama. Along the Gulf Coast, it is the tallest building outside of Houston.

Naming

The RSA Battle House takes its name from two circumstances. The building was added to and purchased on behalf of the Retirement Systems of Alabama in order. On the other hand, the building took on the name of the neighboring Battle House Hotel 's, which was completely renovated in the course of the construction project and included in the new complex as a hotel.

Construction

In July 2001, a 37- storey for Mobile, about 180 meter high building announced. The work on the building began on the weekend of November 7, 2003 with the foundation work with the pouring of the concrete. The base is 7 feet ( 2.1 meters ) thick and is located just above the water level natrplichen Mobile 's ( 1.5 meters). On 16 September 2006, the last 27 meters high peak was assembled by helicopter. The building thus reached its total height. The completion was delayed appreciably by the effects of several hurricanes, including Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Architecture

The RSA Battle House Tower was designed by Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback & Associates, Inc. in Postmodern architecture. It has in addition to the 25 used for office use levels, a 3- storey lobby, 4 floors as a hotel and a mechanical floor. The tower was built during the construction work, the Battle House Hotel. At the "crown" is in the same color variiernde lights that are to be seen on a clear day from up to 40 kilometers.
