Rubén Omar Romano

Rubén Omar Romano Cachia ( born May 18, 1958 in Buenos Aires, Argentina) is an Argentine football coach. He currently trains the Mexican football club Cruz Azul.

He coached since 1998 different teams, Atlético Celaya last from (1998 to 2000), UAG Tecos (2000 to 2001), Monarcas Morelia (2002 to 2004) and CF Pachuca ( 2004). Since the beginning of the 2005 season, he is the coach of Cruz Azul.

Romano was kidnapped on 19 July 2005 by five men after training near Xochimilco. After 65 days he could be freed in a poor neighborhood in the district of Iztapalapa in Mexico City by a targeted police action from an apartment. Romano was not injured. Seven suspected kidnappers were arrested.
