Ruhlsdorf (Strausberg)

Ruhlsdorf is a dwelling place of the district of the city Hohenstein Strausberg in Brandenburg district or Mark- land east of Berlin. It has 44 inhabitants.

Geography

Ruhlsdorf is on the moraine of the Barnim. About eight kilometers to the west is the core city of Strausberg. While in the West and in the immediate vicinity of the village is dominated by agricultural land, the eastern area is more wooded, partly as the northern environment. To the east the landscape of the Barnim passes into märkische Switzerland. South of the village, the nature reserve is Ruhlsdorfer break with the Ruhlsdorfer lake, which the Lichtenower Mühlenfließ (also Zinndorfer Mühlenfließ, Zinndorfer flow, or Garzower Mühlenfließ ) arises. The approximately 17.3 km long river drains the Barnim plateau to Garzau - Garzin in the Elsensee. The water of the lake Else, südwestlichstes link in the chain of lakes Kageler be accessed through the Baberowsee → → Bauernsee Liebenberger lake in the Löcknitz and thus the Spree supplied.

Tourism

In Ruhlsdorf there is a horse farm. The place is located in the western part of the Natural Park märkische Switzerland.

Transport links

With the core city of Strausberg Ruhlsdorf is connected by a highway. Approx. three kilometers east of the highway Ruhlsdorf Muencheberg - Prötzel runs (B1 and B5).
