Rupert Friend

Rupert Friend ( born October 1, 1981 in Oxfordshire, England ) is a British actor.

Life

Rupert Friend completed his training as an actor at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. His debut in the film, he celebrated in 2004 as a youthful lover of John Wilmot ( Johnny Depp ) in the period drama The Libertine, which immediately earned him the praise of critics. For the part of Billy Downes he won the 2005 U.S. Satellite Award as the most promising acting talent, as well as a nomination for the British Independent Film Award for best young actor. 2005 Friend played the Mr. Wickham in Joe Wright's Jane Austen adaptation Pride and Prejudice, his most famous role to date. This was followed by the male lead alongside Joan Plowright in the tragicomedy Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont. Between 2007 and 2008 it will operate in eight productions, of which the war drama The Moon and the Stars and the crime drama Outlaw are already turned off. In both films, he can be seen, among other things alongside such well-known fellow actors such as Sean Bean, Bob Hoskins, Alfred Molina and Jonathan Pryce.

Since 2012, he is seen in the award-winning U.S. series Homeland in the role of Peter Quinn, which already gave him nominations for an Emmy and Screen Actors Guild Award.

Rupert Friend, since 2006, allied with the four years younger British actress Keira Knightley, whom he had met during the filming of Pride and Prejudice. In 2010, the couple separated.
