The Ruvuvu or Ruvubu (also Ruwuwu or Ruvusu ) is a river in Burundi and Tanzania. He belongs to the headwaters of the Nile and is counted with its right tributary Luvironza as its longest Quellast.

Course

The Ruvuvu rises to about 2240 m altitude in a mountain valley basin of the eastern edge of the mountains of the East African grave breach, east of Kayanza. It flows mainly in southeastern direction. About six kilometers below the mouth of the Luvironza at Gitega, the Ruvuvu bends to the northeast. It flows through the Ruvuvu National Park and is navigable in the final kilometers. Above the Rusumo Falls it flows into the Kagera River Nile.
