Rusko, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Rusko ( German Rußhagen ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship. It belongs to the rural community Darłowo (Rügenwalde ) in a circle Sławno ( Schlawe ).

Geographical location

Rusko is located two kilometers south of Darłowo (Rügenwalde ) and 17 kilometers northwest of the county town Sławno ( Schlawe ) along Route 37, which runs from Karwice ( Karwitz ) to Darłowo and in the in Rusko the side street of Bielkowo ( Beelkow to the voivodeship 203 ) opens. The nearest train station is Darłowo at the PKP line Korzybie ( Zollbrueck ) - Darłowo.

The hilly terrain is crisscrossed by local meadow sinks and lies at an altitude of 10 meters above sea level. Neighboring locations are: in the west Porzecze ( Preetz ), in the north and east and south Darłowo Domasławice ( Damshagen ).

Place name

The German place name Rußhagen has not changed over time. The village was known throughout the county before 1945 and in a Spottvers on Pomeranian Platt on everyone's lips: Johann, on wove, drai Katten VOER de Woage, lots juche un joage bet no Rußhoage.

History

The creation time of Rußhagen / Rusko is not known. Mid-14th century, the village of the town Rügenwalde (Polish: Darłowo ) purchased. 1493, there are border disputes between Rußhagen and Damshagen ( Domasławice ). Between 1614 and 1718 the number of farms with 11 farmers and one Kossäten is constant. 1789 are still 5 Büdner and one schoolmaster to.

In 1818 122 residents were registered in Rußhagen. Their number increased to 1895 to 212 in 1939 and was even 259

Before 1945, the village belonged to the district of Rügenwalde, in the also the site of Lake Suckow ( Żukowo Morskie ) was integrated. He belonged to the district Schlawe i Pom. in the district of the Prussian province of Pomerania Pomerania. Civil ceremony was Rußhagen by Peter Hagen ( Pęciszewko ) oriented, the local court was in Rügenwalde.

On March 6, 1945 Russian troops occupied on their march to Rügenwalde the village. On 17 August 1946, the German inhabitants were expelled from the city. Rußhagen came under the name Rusko under Polish administration and is now a part of Gmina Darłowo in powiat Slawienski the West Pomeranian Voivodeship ( 1975-1998 Koszalin Voivodeship ). Today live in Rusko 221 inhabitants.

Church

The population of Rußhagen until 1945 almost all Protestant denomination. The village belonged to the parish of St. Mary's Church Rügenwalde that counted in 1940 a total of 7800 members of the congregation. It was in the church circle Rügenwalde in the ecclesiastical province of the Church of the Old Prussian Pomerania Union. Last German clergyman was superintendent Franz Molzahn.

Since 1945, the population of Rusko is predominantly Catholic. The place is also connected to Darłowo church and is located in the Dean's Office in the Diocese of Koszalin - Kolobrzeg Darłowo of the Catholic Church in Poland. Here surviving Protestant church members are in the parish Koszalin ( Koszalin ) in the Diocese of Pomerania - Greater Poland the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland.

School

The class elementary school was before 1945 in the village. She had been built in the 19th century. Last German teacher was Paul Hunter.
