Russell Teibert

Russell Teibert ( born December 22, 1992 Niagara Falls) is a Canadian soccer player.

Club career

Teibert was active for a number of junior teams in youth football from Ontario, before leaving for the youth academy of Toronto FC played briefly in the summer of 2008 and was taken in September 2008 in the residency program of the Vancouver Whitecaps. With the residency team, he played in 2009 and 2010 in the USL PDL and participated in a number of international tournaments and training camps in the U.S., Germany, Spain and Japan. His debut in a professional league was the midfielder on 31 July 2010 in the short-lived USSF Division 2 Professional League against the Carolina RailHawks FC.

The Whitecaps advanced to the 2011 season in Major League Soccer and Teibert was included in the MLS squad on March 17, 2011. He signed it as Homegrown Player ( players who trained in the club for at least one year) a Generation Adidas contract with MLS. This is one of his salary, which is also higher than usual Developmental Contracts, not the salary cap and Teibert is automatically protected in expansion draft. His debut in the MLS he gave for the season opener in a 4-2 win over Toronto.

National

Teibert, which was awarded in 2008 and 2009 as Canada's U-17 Player of the year, since November 2008 is part of the Canadian Junior squad selections. In 2009, he led the Canadian U-17 team at the CONCACAF U -17 Championship as captain and scored in the first group match, a 1-1 draw against Honduras Canadian hit from the penalty spot. Qualifying for the U- 17 World Cup Nigeria 2009 was missed by defeats against the United States and Cuba in the following two games. Since 2010 Teibert part of the U-20 squad and failed with the team at the CONCACAF U- 20 Championship in 2011 by a 0-3 defeat in the quarter- final against Mexico in qualifying for the Junior World Cup 2011 in Colombia.
