Russian Chess Federation

The Russian Chess Federation (Russian: Российская шахматная федерация ) is the national umbrella organization for chess players of Russia, based in Moscow. It was launched at the founding congress as successor to the Soviet Chess Federation on 15 February 1992, the. He sees his main task in the promotion of chess in Russia and in the interests of its members at home and abroad. The association is a member of the World Chess Federation ( FIDE ) and the National Olympic Committee of Russia.

Activities

The duties of the Association include preparation and care of the training system for the highly skilled chess player, aid in the transport of young people and orientation of chess tournaments and other chess events. Every year Russian youth championships, which serve to make the game more attractive for children and young people and to increase the chess skills of young talent further. Structure

The Association is the self-governing Community Association, which is composed of the member organizations of the republics, regions, areas, cities and federal rank of the Autonomous regions or districts. The governing bodies consisted of the Congress, the Executive Committee and the Governing Board until early 2010.
