Rutas de América
Rutas de América is a cycling stage race in Uruguay.
For the first time the race took place in 1972 and has since been held annually in February. The race is one of the UCI America Tour and is classified in category 2.2. The winner of the inaugural event was Luis Sosa. Overall, successful participants, each with three overall victories the two Uruguayan Carlos Alcantara (1973, 1978 and 1980) and Federico Moreira (1982, 1988 and 1997). The German Sven Teutenberg is with his victory in 1996, the first and only non- originating from South America participant who was able to secure success in the overall standings.
