The Rutulische (proper name: məχanid tʃ'al ) belongs to the group of lesgischen ( Northeast Caucasian ) nachisch - Dagestani languages.
It is spoken by about 20,000 people ( Rutulen ), especially in the autonomous republic of Dagestan ( Russian Federation), but also in Azerbaijan. Since 1990, it is written with the Cyrillic alphabet.
As written languages of the speakers Rutulischen serve next Lezgian, Azerbaijani and Russian.
