Ruwer / Eitelsbach is one of the 19 local districts of the city of Trier in Rhineland- Palatinate. To Ruwer Eitelsbach the uninhabited nature reserve is one of connoisseurs corridor on the Mosel.

Geography

The district with about 3100 inhabitants and an area of 917 ha located on the Ruwermündung and consists of the two parts of the city " Ruwer " and " Eitelsbach ".

History

Ruwer -Maximin (left of the Ruwer ) and Ruwer -Paulin ( the Ruwer right) were separated in the Middle Ages possessions of the Abbey of St. Maximin in Trier or the pin Paulin. They came in 1815 as municipalities in the district of Trier to the Prussian Rhine Province and Ruwer were 1930 community united.

Eitelsbach belonged in the Middle Ages kurtrierischen Office Pfalzel. In 1815, it joined the mayoralty Casel, then the mayor's office and the Ruwer.

As part of a municipal restructuring and the communities Ruwer Eitelsbach were incorporated on June 7, 1969 in the city of Trier. Since 1974, they form as Ruwer / Eitelsbach a district of Trier.

Economy and infrastructure

Well-known wineries are the Karthäuserhof owned by the family Tyrell Rautenstrauch and the Duisburg yard owned by the Episcopal wineries Trier.

The local area is home to the Catholic parish church of St. Clement, the Catholic branch church Fourteen Holy Helpers Eitelsbach, the kindergarten and the primary school of St. Clement Ruwer.

Traffic

Through the district run the Rhineland-Palatinate state roads 145 and 149, the L 145 is parallel to the Mosel through the town and connects Ruwer in a southwesterly direction with Trier- Nord, in a northerly direction with characteristic. The L 149, which comes from Waldrach, performs the Ruwer valley. On the banks of the Moselle, the A 602 of Trier-Nord runs according to its characteristics.

In Ruwer crossed the now disused stretches of Moselbahn and the high forest path. The place possessed many decades over two railway stations: Ruwer ( DB) ( 1889-1981 ) and Ruwer West ( 1903-1967 ).
