Ruwer (river)

Headwaters

The Ruwer (Latin: Erubris, Rubora ) is an orographic right-hand tributary of the Moselle River. It rises on the roaster head in Osburger forest, flows through Kell am See, Niederkell, decays, Hentern (flood level), past Castle Heid, Hinzenburg, Schoendorf, Pluwig, Gusterath Valley, Sommerau ( waterfall ), Waldrach, chasuble and Mertes village and flows in Trier, district - Ruwer Eitelsbach.

The Ruwer is the most water Hunsrück tributary of the Moselle River. It flows in the upper reaches by a lonely valley. In the lower reaches the Ruwer in the spring and after heavy rains also a kayak is mobile. On some steep slopes the Ruwer the Ruwerwein is grown.

History

Riparian zones program

In March 1993, the Ruwer was recorded with tributary streams into the existing since 1989 riparian zones program of the Federal Environment Ministry (BMU). Biology
