Hinzenburg

Hinzenburg ( Moselle Franconian: Henzebürch ) on the Ruwer is a municipality in the Trier -Saar castle in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Ruwer.

Geography

Hinzenburg is in the upper Ruwertal. To place includes the Hinz Burger mill.

History

First documentary mention is the place in 1276 as Heynzinberch and later as Henze mountain. Nearly 200 years later in 1466 the Archbishop of Trier had the supreme jurisdiction over the people and facilities.

Until November 7, 1970 Hinzenburg still belonged to the municipality Kell and then the municipality Ruwer has been assigned.

Parish council

The local council in Hinzenburg consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

The colors of the emblem are intended to highlight the former belonging to the Electorate of Trier. The mountain suggests the former name part of Henze mountain and the book symbolizes the feature of the patron saint of the village of St. Magdalena.

Clubs and events

Built in 2003 the parish hall holds space for clubs and events. It was built in two years of construction, mainly on the part of the villagers.

Since 1966 ( all at the parish Schöndorf counting ) takes place every year between the municipalities Bonerath, wood Erath, Hinzenburg, Ollmuth and Schöndorf a football tournament for the Parish Cup instead. The fair takes place in July.

Attractions

  • The St. Magdalena consecrated chapel dates from the year 1772. It was built by the inhabitants themselves. The altar dates from the 18th century.
  • The chapel of the 14 helpers was built in 1885.
  • The Chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows dates from 1870 and houses a painting of Jesus with the sleeping disciples Peter, James and John on the Mount of Olives by Josef Theis of Erath wood.
  • The bright sandstone cross at the Ruwerbrücke of 1862 is a privately built Thank cross.

Traffic

Hinzenburg is located on the regional road 143 between Pluwigerhammer and Heddert. On the route of the former high forest path of the Ruwer -Hochwald - cycle path.
