Kanzem

The wine Kanzem, at least wrote railway authorities to September 1, 1936 Canzem, is at the lower Saar in Rhineland -Palatinate. He is a municipality within the municipality in the district of Trier Konz -Saar castle.

Access bridges

Following the expansion of the Saar to large shipping route in the 20th century, the local situation of Kanzem became an island surrounded by Saaraltarm and the Saar puncture ( see Figure entrance ).

Kanzem is accessible via four bridges. From Konz on the Saar bridge built in 1929, which was destroyed in World War II and restored in 1956. From the Saar castle on the Wiltinger Saar bridge. From Biebelhausen and from the direction Wawern over bridges that were built in the 1980s. The latter has a length of 179 meters with a span of 169 meters.

Between Kanzem and Wawern there is a barrage of Channeled Saar.

History

On July 20, 1946 Kanzem was attached together with a further 80 municipalities in the counties of Trier and the Saar castle on February 16, 1946, separated from the rest of the French occupation zone Saarland. On June 8, 1947, this French territorial expansion was taken back down to 21 municipalities again so Kanzem came to the 1946 newly formed state of Rhineland -Palatinate.

Parish council

The local council in Kanzem consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election on 7 June 2009, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Our village is beautiful - Our village has a future

Kanzem since 1977 takes part regularly in village contests, with the following results:

Encouraged by the success of 1999, the local church Kanzem competed in 2000 as a representative of the state of Rhineland -Palatinate to the participation in the European Village Renewal competition. The motto was " no future no past ." The evaluation criteria demanded in particularly a holistic approach to rural renewal. Result was a 2nd prize with the award "holistic, sustainable and equitable community development motto of outstanding quality ", which was presented in 2000 representatives of the local community by the international rating jury on October 13.

Philosophical Cemetery Garden

The special garden was from 2001 by Kanzemer citizens planned, sponsored and executed. The completed in 2004, public investment should stimulate with their four part Gardens, existence, goodbye paradise and to reflect on life and its transience.

Landscape Ecological trail

The landscape ecological trail " nature trail at the oxbow lake of the Saar " deals with the historical and ecological aspects of the topics "The Village ," " The River ," "The Forest " and " The Gravel Pit ".

Wine store

2007, a wine shop was opened in Kanzem where the leading wineries Kanzems and each a " guest Winemaker of the Month" participate.

Way crosses

In the local area there are three ways crosses. One of them is at the bank of the Saar and is popularly called Half Cross. The two- meter high cross from light sandstone was built around 1700. According to tradition, was at this point a ship under Saar.
