Geography
Beuren is in the nature park Saar -Hunsrück about 20 km east of Trier.
Immediate neighboring towns are: Schoenberg, Neunkirchen, Burtscheid, Rascheid, Hinzert - Pölert, Reinfeld, Osburg, Farschweiler, Lorscheid and communication.
The municipality is divided into the two districts Beuren and Prosterath with the living space Waldmuhle.
History
The suffix " ( Hochwald ) " bears the community since December 1, 1969. On March 17, 1974 Prosterath was incorporated with 209 residents at that time to Beuren ( Hochwald ).
Beuren ( Hochwald )
Archbishop Theodoric II, formerly provost himself to St. Paulin, gave the pen in 1231, the parish that is named in the deed of 1255 " Boers " (wells, Born). On the chorus of 1836/38 was built in the classical style church is a stone inscription with the number 1414, the year in which the old Gothic church predecessor.

The formerly independent communities Beuren and Prosterath have been joined by the 1974 administrative reform to a community. For the former municipality Prosterath was from whose crest the lily, the attribute of St.. Anthony removed. It stands in the new coat of arms for Beuren in the rear box. The former municipality Beuren is mentioned in documents in 1255. Confirmed the certificate that Beuren already belonged in the reign of Archbishop Theodoric II ( L212 -1242 ) to the monastery of St. Paulin in Trier. In this affiliation indicates the front crest field. It shows a thriving curvature in the kurtrierischen colors red and silver. The Abtstab is a symbol of belonging to the Electorate of Trier monastery of St. Paulin. The formation of the coat of arms is based on a design by the Rev. P. Black, Beuren, and a proposal of the State Archives. Here, the ideal shape of the formation of a coat of arms has succeeded because it has only a metal ( silver) and only one color ( red). One in heraldry repeatedly sought, but rarely achieved claim.
