Trierweiler

Trierweiler is a municipality in the Trier -Saar castle in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Trier -Land.

Community structure

Trierweiler consists of four districts Trierweiler ( 1561 inhabitants), Sirzenich ( 1399 ), Udelfangen (305) and Fusenich (261).

The hamlet Trierweiler also includes the living spaces home Ferring, Niederweiler and Trierweiler settlement. The west of the 51 B -lying part of the settlement Neuhaus belongs to the suburb Sirzenich, the eastern part of the local church Aach.

History

The emergence of the districts of Trierweiler took place in different centuries. The name of Sirzenich found for the first time 975 as Sarceni, Udelfangen Odolvinga 1030 has been mentioned in a document. Trierweiler goes on Villarium in monte (1202 ) and Fusenich on Vosene ( 1259 ) back. That the region around Trierweiler was a popular settlement area in past centuries, showing among other things discovered in Sirzenich Roman and Frankish finds. Udelfangen is also nationally known by his Udelfanger sandstone, which was among other things used in the construction of the Reichstag in Berlin and abroad and shipped overseas. It was and is a popular natural stone sculptor.

Today's church was re-formed on 20 March 1971, the municipalities Sirzenich and Trierweiler. On March 16, 1974, the two were incorporated formerly independent communities Fusenich and Udelfangen.
