Ryan McGowan (2011)

Ryan James McGowan ( born August 15, 1989 in Adelaide ) is an Australian football player.

Career

McGowan, whose parents are from Glasgow, played in his youth in Australia at the Para Hills Knights and the South Australian Sports Institute before he shared with his compatriot Rocco Visconte joined the Youth Academy, the Scottish club Heart of Midlothian 2006. In the junior team of Hearts McGowan is developed for service providers and soon became captain of the youth team and also meets regularly in the reserve team to use.

After he was club internally elected in April 2008 for the U-19 Player of the Year and a new five -year contract signed, he was on the last matchday of the 2007/08 season against FC Gretna his competitive debut for the first team of the club. In October 2009, McGowan was awarded to the second division side Ayr United and met only a few hours after completion of the transfers in a 2-2 draw against FC Dundee.

McGowan in 2008 was part of the Australian squad that reached the semi-finals at the U- 19 Asian Cup and thereby managed to qualify for the Junior World Championships in 2009 in Egypt. At the World Cup finals Australia failed devoid of points already in the group stage. McGowan came only in the opening match against the Czech Republic for use, in which he was placed towards the end of the game because of an emergency brake off.
