Rymättylä

Rymättylä [ rymæt Ylä ː ] ( swedish Rimito ) is a former municipality in the archipelago off the coast of Southwest Finland. It is located on the island of Otava and was incorporated into the city of Naantali 2009.

The municipality had Rymättylä excluding marine areas an area of ​​151.09 km ². It included the southern part of the Otava, the southern islands Airismaa and Aaslaluoto and around 400 more islets and cliffs. Last Rymättylä had 2,165 inhabitants. The community was purely Finnish speakers.

The parish Rymättylä was probably founded early 14th century. The Church of Rymättylä is created around 1510 stone church. At the beginning of 2009 Rymättylä was incorporated along with Merimasku, the second located on the Otava community, and Velkua in the location on the mainland city of Naantali.
