Ryszard Kalisz

Ryszard Kalisz Roman ( born February 26, 1957 in Warsaw) is a Polish politician, lawyer, member of the Sejm of the IV, V and VI. Legislature, former Minister of Interior and Administration.

Curriculum vitae

In 1978 he joined the Polska Zjednoczona partia Robotnicza ( Polish United Workers' Party, PZPR ). Even before he was in Socjalistyczny Związek Studentów Polskich ( Socialist Students Federation of Poland, SZSP ) is active and vice chairman of the Main Commission for revision. In 1980, he earned a degree at the Faculty of Law and Administration at Warsaw University. He graduated from 1981 to 1983, the judge - clerkship and on the clerkship for Lawyers ( 1984-1987 ). Since 1987 he has practiced as a lawyer.

From 1993 to 1996 he was Deputy Chairman of the State Tribunal, after representatives of the president of the Constitutional Commission of the National Assembly. In the years 1997 to 2000 he was State Secretary in the Office of the President, and from 1998 to 2000 he was Managing Director of the Office of the President. In 2000, he led the campaign for re-election by Aleksander Kwasniewski, President. From 2000 to 2005 he also sat on the National Security Council.

In 1999 he was one of the founding members of the Sojusz Lewicy Demokratycznej ( Democratic Left Alliance - SLD) and was elected to its national board of directors. In 2001, he won for the first time elected to the Sejm for the electoral district of Warsaw. He held the position of Chairman of the Legislation Commission and also headed the Polish- German Parliamentary Friendship Group. He was also briefly a member of the committee of inquiry to Rywin affair ( he was by Anita Błochowiak replaced).

In May 2004 he was appointed Minister of Interior and Administration in the government of Marek Belka.

He was a member of the election committee of Włodzimierz Cimoszevicz in the presidential elections of 2005. In the 2005 parliamentary elections, he was for the SLD re-elected to the Sejm (where he scored the greatest number of votes of all deputies SLD ).

In the 2007 parliamentary elections, he was for the electoral district of Warsaw by the coalition list of Lewica i Demokraci ( Left and Democrats - LiD ) with 37 623 votes for the third time deputy. On 11 January 2008 he was elected chairman of the committee of inquiry to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Barbara Blida. In addition, he is Chairman of the Sejm Commission for Justice and Human Rights.

On 22 April 2008 he became a member of the Group Lewica. Since late 2012 he has been involved in the Europa Plus initiative. On April 8, 2013, he was expelled for their involvement in the formation of a competing choice list for this reason of SLD.

He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the German - Polish Lawyers Association.
