Sabine Günther

Sabine Günther, born Sabine Rieger ( born November 6, 1963 in Jena ) is a German track and field athlete, who in the 1980s - starting for the GDR - one of the world's best sprinters. It has been three consecutive European Champion with the 4 x 100 - meter relay in the GDR, 1982, 1986 and 1990, up to August 2012, she was co-owner of the world record in the 4 x 100 -meter run. During the World Cup in Canberra on October 6, 1985, she ran together with Silke Gladisch, Marlies Goehr and Ingrid Auerswald a time of 41.37 s

Sabine Günther started for the SC Motor Jena. In her playing days, she was 1.70 m tall and weighed 60 kg. In 1986 she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze.
