Saburtalo Line
The Saburtalo line (Georgian: საბურთალოს ხაზი ), even after the Russian Saburtalinskaja Linija, is a subway line of the Metro Tbilisi. It is named after the district Tiflisser Saburtalo by which it runs. It was opened in 1979.
History
The line was opened on 3rd September 1979 as a second line of the Metro Tbilisi after in 1964 the Achmetelis - Theatres - Warketeli Line celebrated its grand opening. At first there was only the stations Wagsolski Ploscheds -2 (now Sadguris Moedani -2), Tsereteli, Politeknikuri (Institute ) (now Teknikuri Uniwersiteti ) Komsomolskaya (now Samedizino Uniwersiteti ) and Viktor Goziridse (now Delisi ). As of 1992, some stations were renamed after the independence of Georgia. 2002 Metro Station Vazha Pshavela was completed. 2013 Metro Station Sahelmtsipo Uniwersiteti be opened.
