Sachen Kunga Nyingpo

Sachen Kunga Nyingpo (* 1092 in Sakya Dzong, † 1158 ) is one of the " five venerable masters " who brought the Sakya tradition of Tibetan Buddhism to full bloom. These " five masters " include not only Sachen Kunga Nyingpo Sonam Tsemo, dragpa Gyeltshen, Sakya Pandita Kunga Gyeltshen and Chögyel Phagpa. Sachen Kunga Nyingpo was the son of Khon Könchog Gyelpo, as the founder of the first Sakya Monastery ( "Grey Earth" ) at the same time the first throne holder of Sakya ( Sakya Thridzin ) was. Sachen Kunga Nyingpo was also student of the great translators of the Sakya school, namely the Bari Lotsawa, the second Sakya Thrizin and Drogmi Lotsawa. He studied eight years with him important lessons of Sutra and Tantra, and was due to its realization as an emanation of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara and Manjushri large. Sachen Kunga Nyingpo systematized all the teachings of the Sakya tradition and created the special teaching building of the school. In the Sakya school comes to his great devotion because of his writings on the Hevajra Tantra and the related systematic teaching of Lamdre (Path and Fruit). Sachen Kunga Nyingpo was third Sakya Thridzin. His son Sonam Tsemo (1142-1182) was the fourth throne holder.
