Sadok and 48 Dominican martyrs from Sandomierz

Blessed Sadok, lat Sadocus († 1260 in Sandomierz ), a Dominican monk. He founded the oldest branch of the Dominicans in Poland and was murdered with 48 or 50 brothers during the Mongol invasion in 1260 in St. James Parish Church. On October 18, 1807 Sadok and his companions by Pope Pius VII beatified. Whether Sadok is identical to the Hungarian- founder and abbot of the same monastery set up by Founder Dominic himself in research is not completely saved as. The Catholic Church celebrates its Memorial on June 2.
