Saint-Basile, Quebec

Saint -Basile is a town ( ville) in the MRC Portneuf the Canadian province of Quebec.

It is located in the administrative region of Capitale - Nationale - about 50 kilometers west of the provincial capital, Quebec City and 8 km north of the St. Lawrence River. The town has about 2600 inhabitants and is named after Saint Basil of Caesarea.

History

In 2000, the Sprengel ( municipalité de la paroisse ) Saint -Basile and the community ( municipalité de village ) Saint -Basile -Sud were merged to form the town of Saint -Basile.
