Saint-Florent-sur-Cher

Saint- Florent- sur -Cher is a commune 6605 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Cher in the Centre region. It belongs administratively to the district Bourges and Canton Chârost.

Geography

The municipality is situated approximately 15 kilometers southwest of Bourges. Neighboring municipalities are:

  • Villeneuve -sur -Cher in the north,
  • Morthomiers in the Northeast,
  • Le Subdray in the east,
  • Saint- Caprais in the southeast,
  • Lunery in the south and
  • Civray in the West.

The municipal seat is traversed in south-north direction from Cher River, in the western municipality runs parallel to the Arnon.

Transport links

The railway company Compagnie du chemin de fer de Paris à Orléans, and follow opened on December 9, 1861 the local train station. This is today operated by the SNCF and the TER Centre and is part of the railway line Bourges - Réseau Ferré de France Montlucon of.
