Saint-Louis (Guadeloupe)
Saint -Louis is a municipality with 2582 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the northwest of the island of Marie -Galante. She belongs to the French overseas department of Guadeloupe. Counterpart in the Basse -Terre is Vieux -Fort. The two settlements were established around 1648, when there residents of the West Indies - is the name of the island group, which also includes the archipelago of Guadeloupe and separates the Atlantic Ocean from the Caribbean Sea - settled and established homes. Today Saint- Louis is a member of the Communauté de communes de Marie -Galante.
