Saint-Maur (Cher)

Saint -Maur is a commune in the Cher department in the Centre region. The municipality is situated approximately 50 km south of the city of Bourges. Having started a rural exodus in the 1980s, the community has only 246 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011).

The municipality belongs to the canton Châteaumeillant, a part of the Arrondissement of Saint- Amand- Montrond.

Saint -Maur is a wine-growing village, whose wines are marketed under the appellation Châteaumeillant.
