Saint-Michel-sur-Orge
Saint -Michel- sur -Orge is a commune with 20,224 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the department of Essonne of the Ile- de -France region. It lies approximately 25 kilometers southwest of the French capital Paris to the small river Orge.
The neighboring municipalities are in the north and east of Sainte -Geneviève -des- Bois, in the southeast of Le Plessis- Pâté, in the south Brétigny -sur -Orge and west Longpont -sur -Orge.

The city has included a station on the RER line C of the S- Bahn service in the Île- de -France region and is therefore in the public transport in the Paris region. Several bus lines complement this offer.
South of the city runs the Route nationale 104, a portion of the francilienne and European Route 50
Twinning
Saint -Michel- sur -Orge is connected by twinning with the German community Nailsworth in Saarland and with Ber in Mali. As part of a European partnership agreement, which was signed in 1996, Saint -Michel- sur -Orge is also connected to Senftenberg ( Germany ), Veszprém (Hungary ), Žamberk (Czech Republic) and Nowa Sol (Poland). 2002, joined the Italian community Fresagrandinaria.
