Saint Warinus

Warin of Poitou, ( Latinized also Warinus or Gerinus, French also Gairin or Guérin, but also Gerin, Garin and Gerwin ) ( † 679 in Poitou ) was Count of Paris, Count of Poitou. He is a saint and martyr and progenitor of the powerful noble family of Guidonen.

Family

His father Bodilon was like he was already Count of Paris, his mother Sagrada from Alsace was spoken later Holy. He married Gunza of Trier.

Life

Warin was Frankish governor in the province of Poitou. Shortly after his brother Leger he was accused and killed the conspiracy against the king.

His Catholic feast day is October 2, the Guardian Angels festival in which his brother is worshiped.
