Sainte-Lucie-de-Tallano

Sainte -Lucie- de -Tallano (also Santa - Lucia-di- Talla), a commune of 448 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ), is 500 to 900 m altitude, in Sartenai, in the south of Corsica, in the canton of tallano - Scopamène, amidst orchards, olive groves and vineyards.

Abbey Saint -François

Above the town is the Franciscan Monastery of Saint Francis, founded by Count Rinuccio della Rocca, a major feudal lords of the 15th century, in 1492. In the church once stood the two donated by the founder reredos, which can be seen in the town hall of the place today. A third panel, depicting the Coronation of the Virgin 1928 stolen. The originating from the 16th century pictures show the Crucifixion and the Virgin and Child, attributed to the little-known "Master of Castelsardo " or his school. Parish Church

Behind the church is a fortified house with pitch, bay windows and loopholes, in which the inhabitants of the village barricaded themselves in danger.

Bronze Age monuments

This in 1959, discovered on aerial plant of Castellu di Cucuruzzu located on the 900 m high granite plateau Pianu di Levie, from which you can overlook the whole mountain basin of Rizzanese. Nearby is Capula. Both are plants in the Torre- culture.

Orbiculit

In a quarry south of Sainte -Lucie- de -Tallano comes as a geological rarity of Kugeldiorit or Orbiculit (French diorites orbiculaire ) of concentric spherical shells constructed before. Kugeldiorit is known except by some other occurrence to Ajaccio still from Finland, Sweden and Lower Austria.
