Sainte-Rose (Guadeloupe)

Sainte- Rose is French with its 118.60 km ² the largest area Gemeindeim overseas department of Guadeloupe. It has 15,486 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) and is located in the north of Basse- Terre. An important economic factor is tourism. Boisneuf is the most common family name. Neighboring municipalities are Lamentin and Deshaies. The municipality comprises the villages of La Boucan, Viard and Bellevue to the west, La Ramee and Comté de Lohéac in the east and in the south Sofaïa. The latter local section borders the National Park of Guadeloupe. Sainte-Rose is a member of the Communauté de communes du Nord Basse Terre.
