Sally Gray

Sally Gray ( born February 14, 1916 in Holloway, London, † September 24, 2006 in London; actually Constance Vera Stevens) was an English film actress of the 1930s and 1940s.

Life

Sally Gray played mainly in musicals and light comedies. She was a blonde and had a seductive throaty voice. Gray as a child was a stage actress before she prevailed in the 1930s in the film. She attended the School of Dramatic Arts by Fay Compton. From 1942 on she had to withdraw due to illness of acting. From 1946, she managed a comeback with films such as Attention: Green ( Green for Danger, 1946), A heart is lost ( Carnival, 1946) and convict 3312 ( They Made Me a Fugitive, 1947). The directors of RKO were so excited by Sally Gray, that they authorized the producer William Sistrom to offer you a long-term contract, if it came to the United States. She declined the offer and remained in England.

Sally Gray married in 1951 Dominick Browne, 4th Baron Oranmore and Browne and remained his wife until his death in 2002.
