William Sistrom

William " Billy" Sistrom ( born March 19, 1884 in Lincolnshire, England; † March 3, 1972 in the United States) was a British film producer.

Life

He began his work in the film industry at Universal Pictures and went to RKO in 1935, where he was involved in the filmic adaptation Leslie Charteris ' work "The Saint in New York ". He produced thirty British and American films 1930-1949.

Sistrom also worked as a studio manager. From 1925 on, he was head of the Hollywood studio long Center studios for a time.

Sistrom had two sons who were born in the United States; Microbiologist William and Hollywood producer Joseph.

He married the actress Rosalyn Boulter, when he was 68 and she 36. Boulter's daughter Carol Haynes Johnson, who was eight years old when they were married, William Sistrom described as " kind, loving, giving. I 've always called him 'Daddy '. Daddy came into our lives when I was about four. " After the wedding, William retired and the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona where Sistrom for a time managed a turkey farm.
