Salmon Glacier

The Salmon River (English for "Salmon River " ) is a river in the Canadian province of British Columbia and the Alaska Panhandle (USA).

The Salmon River is produced in about 450 m above sea level at the foot of Salmon Glacier, its meltwater feeds it. It flows in a southerly direction. After 3 km of the river crosses the border to Alaska. He takes shortly after the likewise flowing from Canada to Alaska Cascade River on the left side. A little later meets the Texas Creek from the right on the Salmon River. The Salmon River flows approximately 22 km at Hyder - 3 km south-southwest of Stewart - in the Portland Canal, an elongated fjord on the west coast of North America.

The river was named in 1868 by Staff Commander David Pender ( Royal Navy ).
