Salou

Salou [ səlɔʊ̯ ] is a coastal town in the province of Tarragona ( Catalonia / Spain), about 15 km from the provincial capital of Tarragona. It has 26 752 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013).

The city's economy is primarily based on tourism. In the vicinity is the Port Aventura theme park.

The city has four major beaches. The Platja de Llevant ( east beach ) is, with a length of 1.2 km is the largest. In addition, there are several smaller bays.

There is a known as the Casa Bonet villa which was designed by the architect Domènech i Sugranyes grass, a student of Antoni Gaudí on the beach promenade Passeig de Jaume I..
