Samuel ben Nahman

Rab Samuel bar Nahman (also: bar Nachmani or ben Nachmani; * in the 3rd century in Palestine; † in the 4th century ) was an amora of the third generation in Palestine.

He was a student of Jonathan ben Eleazar. As a highly respected Haggadist he worked in Tiberias, he lived twice longer time in Babylonia.

His chief disciple and tradent was Chelbo.
