San Ignacio is a town in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur on the border of Baja California with about 700 inhabitants. San Ignacio is located in the wasteland between Guerrero Negro and Santa Rosalia. Built in 1728, the Jesuit Juan Bautista Loyando at this point a mission and named it after the founder of his order, St.. Ignatius of Loyola.
