Baja California Sur

Baja California Sur ( " South Lower California " ) is a Mexican state (since 1974). It forms the southern part of the Baja California peninsula and comprises 73,475 km ² with a population of approximately 424,000. Capital is La Paz in the north it borders on the state of Baja California. Here, the feature is important to note that the total Peninsula is called " Baja California", just as well as the northern part of the island alone (abbreviated BC ). The southern part, however, is " Baja California Sur " (abbreviation: BCS).

History

Attractions and provincial nature

One of the sights of Baja California Sur are the cave paintings in the area around Mulege. The bizarre rocky mountain ranges south of Loreto are unique in their character. These are historical genesis due to the volcanic origin of the peninsula, as seen on the caldera Aguajito.
