San José de Jáchal

San José de Jáchal (or often shortened: Jáchal ) is the capital of the department Jáchal in the province of San Juan in the west of Argentina. It is located 153 km away to the south of the provincial capital of San Juan of the Río Jáchal shore. San José de Jáchal is the crossing point of national roads Ruta Nacional 40 and Ruta Nacional 150 In the classification of municipalities in the province of San Juan is a municipality of the second category.

History

The town was founded on June 25, 1571 by Juan de Echegaray.
