Sanctity (band)

Sanctity (English: holiness ) is a thrash metal band from Asheville, North Carolina (USA).

History

The band was formed in 2000 by guitarist and bassist Jeremy London Zeff Childre. Both have known each other from early childhood and played during her high school years in various bands. Since both were dissatisfied with the music of these bands, they decided to form their own band. London switched from bass to drums. The band played several concerts in which they met their vocalist Jared MacEachern. Since the band was looking for a singer, MacEachern decided to drop out of college and joined the band.

The band wrote their own songs and produced two EPs on their own. In 2005 alone, the band played 190 concerts and shared the stage with bands like this Fear Factory, Mastodon, Nile, Still Remains and Trivium. Meanwhile, singer Matthew Heafy recommended to the Roadrunner A & R Monte Conner the band. Sanctity sent their two EPs along with a self-made DVD to Conner. He liked the music and asked the band to a demo that Jason Suecof (including Trivium ) was produced. In order to finance the recordings, the band played a benefit concert. Conner was impressed and asked the band to more songs. After a second demo finally Conner took the band under contract.

Before recording their debut album "Road to Bloodshed " left bassist Billy Moody the band. He was replaced by Derek Anderson. The album was released on 20 April 2007. In April / May 2007 Sanctity went along with Trivium and Annihilator on tour through Europe.

In June 2013, the singer Jared MacEachern joined as the new bassist and second vocalist of Machine Head.
